Notes to the Financial Statements For the years ended December 31, 2018 and 2017 Note B - Sale of property: On July 30, 2018, the Home sold its property consisting of land, building, furniture, fixtures-and equipment for $50,000,000 (net of expenses of sale of $3,257,888). The Board of Directors is awaiting approval from the New York State Attorney General's office to fund two new non-profit organizations which will carry on the Home's mission. Once the approval is received, funds distributed to one organization will be used to enter into a joint venture with an existing adult care facility to substantially improve and operate a new home for elderly individuals located in New Jersey. The balance of the funds will be distributed to the second organization to be used to purchase and develop an adult care facility to be located in New York. The Home recognized a net gain on sale of the property of $46,544,122 which is included in non-operating gains in the statement of activities as of December 31, 2018.
